What Are Popcorn Nugs?
Popcorn nugs come from the same hemp or cannabis plant as regular nugs but are typically much smaller. While larger buds are often considered Grade-A quality, popcorn nugs are considered Grade-B. Popcorn nugs contain the same cannabinoid and terpene profile as their larger counterparts but are slightly less potent due to smaller trichome content.
Larger buds, or colas, are all the buds from the top of the hemp plant, which receive optimal sunlight, nutrition, and care, resulting in higher trichome levels and quality.
Popcorn nugs are the buds at the bottom of the plant closer to the soil; they often don’t get the same sunlight and nutrition as the top, leading to lower trichome levels and more airy nugs versus densely packed nugs.
